Kooma is a producer and songwriter from Helsinki, Finland who's sharing his diaries from an imaginary treehouse. Collaborations with international vocalists, such as Veela, Miyoki and HANDS, plus his soft & recognizable soundscapes have been shaping the unique brand for a couple of years now. Kooma's trademark sounds are dark lo-fi inspired pads, echoing percussions and atmospheric guitars. His debut EP, Trigger, was released in 2018 and it received positive reviews, including one from LA Music Critic’s Bob Leggett: “Each song has something unique to offer, and should appeal to more than just the typical hip-hop crowd. If you like indie music in general, you will probably like this one, so check it out, especially the upbeat tune, Imok." The follow-up album, Silence = International Language, came out at the end of 2019. The project was more straight-forward than its predecessor and leaned more towards chillout tones. After winning the Flowers Beat Contest hosted by L.Dre & Chris Punsalan in November 2020, Kooma announced that he’s dropping a mixtape before the end of the year. The promise was kept: seven-track release, Stages of Hypothermia, closed out the year of pandemic.
